Do I need a Motorcycle License to drive a scooter?
Under Maryland law, every scooter over 50cc's requires a motorcycle license, tag, and insurance. The 50cc Vespa's are actually 49.4 cc's, thus excusing them from these criteria, however you do need a driver's license to operate any motor vehicle on a Maryland roadway, and we highly suggest putting insurance on your scooter even though it is not required!
How do I get a Motorcycle License?
MVA, local community colleges, and Harley Davidson dealerships all offer courses. It'll run you somewhere in the $300 range.
How fast do they go and how many MPG do they get?
The models range, but the most popular 50cc scooters go 40 MPH and get 100 MPG.
Can I drive a scooter on the highway?
If the scooter you buy has more than 250cc's, you can take it on closed-access highways like 695 and 83. A 50cc scooter should not be driven on a road whose speed limit is more than 40mph.
Do you deliver?
We offer local delivery for a small fee. For locations outside Baltimore's metropolitan area, we would refer you to a motorcycle transporter. Delivery to the D.C./NOVA area runs about $150 depending on location.
Where do I get my scooter serviced and what is the warranty?
We are a full service dealer and would be happy to take care of any of your service needs. We only work on Vespa's and Piaggio's. Each new scooter comes with a full 1 year manufacturer's warranty which can be used at any Vespa/Piaggio dealership. It includes free towing and roadside assistance.
Do you take trade-in's?
Yes, we do take trade-in's of Vespa's, Piaggio's and select other brands of scooters and motorcycles. We do not accept off-brand chinese scoots.
Do you sell used scooters?
Yes, occassionally we get used scooters in stock as trade-in's. We usually have some new, unused models from previous years at discounted prices. Please call for availability.
Do you finance scooters?
We do offer a variety of financing options as well as layaway. The best way to go about financing is to come in and fill out an application.
Can you special order a scooter?
Yes, with a $500 deposit ($250 non-refundable) we will order your desired model/color depending on availability. If it is in the country, it will take 2 weeks. Otherwise we cannot guarantee a timeframe.
